Embassy of Switzerland in Senegal

As the official representation of Switzerland, the Embassy covers all matters concerning diplomatic relations between the two countries. It represents Swiss interests in the areas of political, economic, financial and legal affairs, as well as science, education and culture.

Responsibilities

• The Swiss Embassy represents Switzerland's interests in the country and is responsible for consular services and visa matters for persons residing in: Senegal, Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania.

• Entry into Senegal

  The Ministry of African Integration, Foreign Affairs, and Senegalese Abroad would like to bring the following information to the attention of foreign nationals regarding the conditions of entry into Senegalese territory and vaccination certificates:

  • vaccination against diseases such as yellow fever, DPT, measles, and hepatitis A and B is recommended solely for the health and safety of travelers
  • presentation of a vaccination certificate is not mandatory for entry into Senegalese territory for these same diseases.

• Visa Mauritania

  New: Mauritanian entry visa - electronic visa (e-Visa)

  As part of the implementation of the new procedures governing entry into Mauritania, as of January 5, 2025, all passengers requiring a visa must obtain an e-Visa before boarding their flight to Mauritania.

  The procedures will have to be carried out exclusively via the official website of the National Agency Registers and Secure Titles (ANRPTS). • Visa Mali

  Conditions of entry to Mali (24.03.2025)

  New: visa for entry to Mali

  As part of the digitization of the Malian public administration, applicants for visas to enter Mali will now have to make an appointment on the official website of the Diplomatic Missions and Consular Posts of the Republic of Mali, accessible via the portal.

  In this regard, applicants for entry visas to Mali residing in Switzerland or abroad are invited, as of Monday, March 24, 2025, to make an appointment on the aforementioned website by filling out the online application form before going to the Embassy, with physical copies of the documents required for the rest of the procedure.

• Visa The Gambia

  Conditions of entry into The Gambia (19.05.2025)

  New: Visa-free entry into The Gambia officially confirmed

  As part of the publication by The Gambia of a new harmonised visa policy, which has been in force since 19 May 2025, Swiss nationals can travel to The Gambia without a visa and are not required to obtain prior authorisation. If visa fees are nevertheless requested upon entry into the country, the following note from the Gambian Ministry of Foreign Affairs may be presented.
